Biography

Innem Venkata Anudeep Kumar Reddy received his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology Goa, India in September 2015. He worked as an intern at National Institute of Technology Warangal, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore and Defense Research Development Organization Hyderabad, India during his Bachelor’s degree. Later, he started his MS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo in January 2016 and worked under the guidance of Dr. Edward Furlani and Dr. Paras Prasad. As a part of his Masters Thesis, he investigated the interactions of structured light with structured matter. He received his MS degree in February 2018. He also worked as an intern at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia in Fall 2017. He is currently pursuing a dual-PhD in Electrical Engineering at UB under the guidance of Dr. Josep Jornet and in Bioscience Department at KAUST under the supervision of Dr. Carlo Liberale. His current research interests are in the field of micro-Optics, beam shaping, 3D Nanofabrication, Optical tweezers, Plasmonics, and Terahertz communications.

Selected Honors and Awards

  • Received first prize nationwide for the best undergraduate project at Savishkar, iFAST, India.
  • Received an invitation from the President of India attributing to my research achievements to stay at his palace for a week and experience the governance from top level.
  • Received grant for summer school on light science and applications in Santander, Spain and met Prof. Donna Strickland, Nobel Prize in Physics ’18.

Research

He started his research career in the field of Photonics from his sophomore year and designed indigenous fiber Bragg grating sensors in an attempt to replace conventional electronic sensors used at National Institute of Oceanography Goa, India. From then on, his research focus stayed in the field of Optics and Photonics. During his Masters, he focused on theoretical modelling using COMSOL and applied his knowledge to solve both industrial as well as academic problems. At present, his primary research is on beam shaping using 3D Nanofabrication and application in the field of Biology as well as communications.
