Biography

In Spring 2020, Jacob Hall received his BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY. He joined Northeastern University in Fall 2020 as an MS student in the ECE department. His attendance at Northeastern is being sponsored by the Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship Program, a DoD funded Scholarship-for-Service program, in connection with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Information Directorate in Rome, NY.

His affiliation with AFRL started with a summer internship in 2019, and has continued with internships in the summers of 2020 and 2021. Here, he works with Dr. Ngwe Thawdar who is a close collaborator with Dr. Jornet, and it was a collaborative project between AFRL and NEU where he met Dr. Jornet.

He has been a member of the UNLab since Fall 2020. In his time here he has assisted other members in their research projects through efforts of automating data collection, and conducted one of his own with a conference paper awaiting acceptance.

His interests lie at the cross roads of deep learning and THz communications, specifically in data-driven physical layer solutions.
