Biography
Rachel Rakushkin is a fourth-year undergraduate student at Northeastern University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. At the UN Lab, she is developing the ground station for the world’s first sub-terahertz satellite communication link in the 220-240 GHz range. For this initiative, she is focusing on antenna design, link budget analysis, and identifying optimal solutions for the ground RF chain. She previously served as Program Lead for Northeastern’s CubeSat team, where she oversaw the development of two satellites, one of which will host the sub-THz payload designed by her colleagues at the UN Lab. She now serves as Chief Engineer for this satellite mission, coordinating technical development across subsystems to advance the next generation of space communications.
