Biography
Timo Jakumeit received the B.Sc. degree in information and communication technology and the M.Sc. degree in advanced signal processing and communications engineering from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany, in 2021 and 2024, respectively. He is currently a doctoral researcher in the BMFTR Project Internet of Bio-Nano-Things at FAU. His research interests fall into the broad area of communications engineering, with a focus on molecular communication and mathematical channel modeling.
Research
Timo Jakumeit researches molecular communication for the Internet of Bio-Nano Things, developing mathematical channel and receiver models for molecular transport in realistic vascular networks. His work quantifies how vessel topology, hemodynamic dispersion, vessel wall interactions, and other physical effects shape signal reception, enabling accurate yet abstracted models of MC in complex environments and providing a foundation for system design toward future medical applications.
