UN Lab’s Ali Alqaraghuli Selected for IEEE AP-S C.J. Reddy Travel Grant!

UN Lab’s Ali Alqaraghuli Selected for IEEE AP-S C.J. Reddy Travel Grant!

For the second year, Ali Alqaraghuli, graduate research assistant at the UN Lab, will be presenting his research at the IEEE Symposium on Antennas and Propagation. This time however, in addition to being able to present his work at the 2022 IEEE APS symposium in Denver, Colorado, Ali was selected for the C.J. Reddy Travel Grant for Graduate Students which will aid in covering his travel expenses to be able to attend the conference. The announcement will be posted on the AP-S website and/or in the IEEE Antennas & Propagation Magazine.

Last year, Ali's accepted paper presented a dual-band antenna design, with the frequencies selected to enable full-duplex communication at the terahertz band in compliance with the FCC regulations. This year, Ali's paper shows a two-stage deployable antenna design to serve 1U CubeSats the ability to scan for neighbors and align (stage 1), followed by a more directive communication link (stage 2). Ali is currently leading the antenna and propagation meetings within the UN Lab, and plans to continue his research on terahertz space technology.

Gratitude to the C.J. Reddy Travel Grant selection committee, and congratulations to the authors Ali Alqaraghuli, Arjun Singh, and lab director Josep Jornet!
